What long ago was promised
Where angels longed to look
Redemption now accomplished
It’s written in the Book
The mystery once was written
The promise was proclaimed
A One to come to earth
To grant us second birth
The Son, the One Beloved
God in flesh become
He would walk among us
God and man made one
A holy blessed union
That God would stand with us
Our sins to take upon the tree
From sin and death to free
For Jesus is our Saviour
Our Groom for us the Bride
A spotless lovely Church to win
And lift us up on high
The clouds will break asunder
The trumpet call will sound
The Bride and Groom united
To stand on heavenly ground
With all the heavenly host
To worship Christ our Lord
The Lamb upon the throne
Our eternal home
